Battling to awaken
this fog driven fantasy
Coffee offers nothing
Body now immune to caffeine
How do I wake up from this sleep deprived dream
Too tired to exercise
Too exhausted to think
Fighting to stay in this animational game
God what of this benevolence…
Calloused hands, bruised feet
muscles beyond restore
Sure I can do it all
I’ve done it before
But this time I wonder
What is my stake? Do I have claim?
Will all I be leaving behind, a
battle torn body
or a legacy to reside
Dwelling within the minds of yours
I want the easy way once, a
road
well travelled…
a super highway from
point ‘A’ to point ‘B’
I wish in clear conscience
I could pray that
just once… but…
You have shown me your hands, your feet
your own torn body and I know
A gift to travel at all
It is the less travelled roads Dad and I took
on the way home from town
in his old, red, beat up truck
we got lost, stuck, broken down
but found little known lakes, unlikely
homes
pastures
abound
in
wildlife
unaffected by the populated surrounds
I take it all back
Who am I to complain, to
lay stake on what’s yours
‘Suck it up camper!’ What I
Like to say
Love these new days
Coffee
Is
Gone
Pop some Advil
Get back in there
More ground to cover
LOVE
ONE
ANOTHER
One More Day
Worth Its Weigh
Thanks for the pep talk
Eyes forward on life, pain set aside
Letting go my strife.

cindy,
“I want the easy way once, a
road
well travelled…
a super highway from
point ‘A’ to point ‘B’”
Hmm! It seems like Honey mentioned these exact words to me just the other day.
Great!

I think at some point we all want that, and know the human condition doesn’t allow for it!!!

Wow. Life isn’t easy, is it. But the rewards are tangible–at last at times. And worth the struggle.

yes… pain can be a sweet sorrow.. and a driving force. Sometimes in a race, it can be what keeps you moving forward to the finish line.

Beautiful, Cindy.
I can identify in many ways, including the coffee and Advil.

I’m laughing, as I am feeling better today, but found out I’m allergic to coffee… oooo… THIS will be painful!!! It’s always something!
