Living Waters
By Cindy Hanson
one drop drenches me
yet you come with empty hearts
I am but human
a simple conduit
of the love and
simplicity you seek
*
a gift cannot belong to me
to you
to anyone really
we are all
passing currencies
*
an open hand with
an empty heart will not
obtain what it aspires
*
look up, look around
there is but one source
it is not at my door,
it is in my heart
*
it pleases me to share,
to smile, to love
please know, however, dear one
if it is an empty heart you yearn to satisfy
it
takes
but
one
drop
*
when you seek that, you will
encounter
that what you find comes
not from me, but He
*
it continues then
through you
through me
through all eternity

I like that line – it takes but one drop. So true!

Bindo, Larry, and Carol… wish I could say more.. but, thanks! : ) Sometimes I get overwhelmed by what others need, and have to remind myself it isn’t me that they need!!!

This reminds me of one of my favorite psalms–42:7: “Deep calls to deep/ in the roar of your waterfalls;/ all your waves and breakers/ have swept over me.”

umhmm. Love this.
My favorite part: “…we are all
passing currencies…”
so true.

not from me, but He…
your selflessness is an example.

I was caught by this line “a simple conduit” and was released from its grasp by your ending. Nice!

Laura, Claire, Sojourner… Thank you for stopping in! I find myself sometimes getting caught up in trying to fix things for people that I can not possibly fix. Letting go myself, has proven to be as much the process as someone trying to let go of the actual problem. Living waters indeed!! Every day a new adventure!
