a christmas trip we wander

hoarfrost haze shadows our way

the frozen road gently winding

a broken glimpse of snowy wind gusts

to grandma’s house, scenes we’re finding

rest my little ones

the fun will be had

a christmas trip we wander

good conversation

love does abide

in this, we all grow stronger

    :) This made me smile.

I no longer have any grandmas, but I remember things like this.

And yes, they make us stronger.

    Well written.

Duane… the great thing about having kids someday (hint) is you get to relive these moments! : )

Nice poem, Cindy. It takes me back to when I was a child and some of the trips we made to visit relatives during the holidays. Hope you have a happy and blessed 2011!

My parents rarely took us on trips when I was young. : ( Now that I’m the Mom, I can change that! ;)

“in this, we all grow stronger”

    I liked that.

Right now with the isolating snows, I’ve been gathering my kids around the modern ‘radio’ (TED podcasts), for laughter to grow us strong.
