I’m not Rob Bell. But I get it. I think.
I’m paving this
road
each brick
a good intention;
desperate….
I reach
The destination
I seek.
I find a door
where I began this journey
at the very first brick I paved.
A sign
it says “only by me”
and I notice in the corner, a small
hand written add on
“with authenticity”.

It took me two time, but I get it.
lol, Larry, two times reading, or two times kicking the bucket?
I like the simplicity of this. It mirrors the simplicity of your “yes,” or maybe recalls it.

I’m quite sure “me” is Jesus? But I had to reread several times to make sure I could say as much. If so, it’s a huge doctrinal statement. You’re a master of something here–subtlety? Doesn’t quite fit. Irony? No, that’s not it. I think you’re simply standing in faith. Nice.
The beauty of poetry, sometimes, is leaving the question, letting each concept mean what it needs to… for the reader, at some point the poem transends the writer’s intentions… timelessly.
I like it. But can one pave a brick road? Would it not be bricking the road, and then one paves pavement?
Just a nitpicky detail
There is a song that paraphrases nicely. “It was interpretation I know…” Each interp — another path to follow.
